ISIS is an international non-profit membership organization (U.S. 501c3) which serves nearly 500 zoological institutional members, from 54 countries, worldwide. This is an unprecedented level of global cooperation by mostly city-based facilities, presently including about half of the world's "recognized" zoos and aquariums. ISIS supports conservation and preservation of species, by helping member facilities manage their living collections.

Zoo Conservation Outreach Group
ZCOG's primary goal is to empower Latin American zoos in their efforts to provide high quality animal care, effective environmental education programs, and scientific research that contribute to regional and global conservation efforts. In accordance with these ideals, ZCOG sponsors regional training workshops, organizes equipment and material donation drives, provides scholarships for Latin American zoo professionals to attend regional and international conferences and workshops, facilitates "Sister Zoo" relationships to provide long-term support, and supports regional in situ field research.
